First Grade Meets Author of Olivia The Bully
First graders in Mrs. Bandinelli and Mrs. Hughes’s room have been working all year on perfecting their writing technique, and on April 27, they were able to meet a real author! Engelic Everett is the newly published author of the book Olivia the Bully, an adorable story of a rabbit who learns firsthand how to treat others with kindness and respect.
She has loved to write since she was young, constantly writing poetry and other stories. When she is not busy writing, Engelic runs self-advocacy groups with her friends, and works for People Inc. She has many internships as well, including one at Sister’s Hospital.
Her first book signing will be at The Museum of Disabilities History on May 6th from 2-4pm. There will be a live reading of Olivia the Bully by Engelic herself, as well as snacks and face painting. Can’t make the event? Tune into AM Buffalo on May 3 at 10:00 a.m. She will also be at the Kids Day Bison's Game on June 1, throwing out the first pitch!
Engelic is truly an inspiration. She is an incredible role model for what hard work, determination, and a positive attitude can do for you. In the words of Engelic Everett, “Anyone can be an author! You can do anything you put your mind to. Just say ‘I CAN’”.
