Military Week at the High School
High school students experienced the different military branches for a whole week and learned the differences of each one. From checking out their military vehicles, to the Army band playing with the band students, the experience had lasting impressions.
The HS Work Based Learning Program invited the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Air Force in for presentations, discussions on ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) and ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) requirements and the young ladies in high school were able to hear from distinguished Military women about their experiences.
As Military week came to an end for most students, it’s just the beginning for 3 of CHSAT’s very own, who were recognized with a Future Service Recognition Presentation. Jason Johnson, Andrew Gould and Anthony Candelerio all committed to military service prior to graduating in June. Jason will be commissioned in July to Fort Benning, GA for Basic Training. Heading out in August, Anthony will be at Fort Lee for his Basic Training while Andrew will have Basic Training in Fort Jackson. Along with these three gentleman who are just beginning their Military journey, appreciation was also given to CSAT staff who have completed service in the Military. Mr. Duval and High School Assistant Principal Mr. Carstens were recognitized for their time in the Military.
CSAT would like to wish Jason, Anthony and Andrew the best of luck as they begin their Military careers after graduation, as well as thank all the men and women and their families across all the Military branches for their service.
