Athletes Celebrate Year of Sportsmanship
CSAT's sixth annual Sportsmanship Celebration proved to be a huge success, bringing together over 200 student-athletes, family members, friends and coaches to Banchetti by Rizzo's on June 13.
The event was headlined by special guest Matt Clingersmith, Niagara County Community College's baseball coach. Clingersmith highlighted the importance of playing as a team rather than as an individual, and the critical components of leadership and sportsmanship to a successful team.
In addition, CSAT Athletic Director Joel Reed named 20 students to the school's 2017 All-Sportsmanship Team, and announced that the boys and girls cross country team was chosen as the Gabe Brzezinski Sportsmanship Award, the evening's highest honor. The award was renamed in 2016 and dedicated to freshman athlete at CSAT, Gabe Brzezinski, who passed away during the 15-16 school year.
