Coppola Firm Donation Provides Book Bundle For Every K-5 Classroom
Thanks to a generous donation from The Coppola Firm, the Charter School for Applied Technologies (CSAT) was able to purchase a book bundle for all 40 classrooms in their elementary school. The bundles were presented to classrooms as part of the Celebration of Reading, which pairs classrooms with “Celebrity Readers” who read to students and talk about their career and the importance of literacy and education.
The Williamsville based law firm made the donation to recognize the retirement of longtime Superintendent J. Efrain Martinez, who completed 15 years of service to CSAT in June. As longtime participants in the Celebration of Reading, the Coppola Firm expressed a willingness to further promote and support CSAT’s literacy efforts.
“For years, I have been – and now our team is – deeply inspired when we participate in CSAT’s annual Celebration of Reading,” said Lisa Coppola, owner and attorney at the Coppola Firm. “The children are at the heart of everything the CSAT team does, and that shines brightly when we visit. And, of course, we know how important literacy is as a foundation for success.”
Members of the firm served as readers at the 12th annual Celebration of Reading held October 23-25, 2018. After reading to students and answering questions about their careers, they were able to present book bundles to excited students and teachers in four of the classrooms.
“We cannot thank the Coppola Firm enough for their continued participation in the event, their commitment to literacy and their ongoing support of CSAT,” said Susan Jurewicz, principal of the elementary school, which serves 1,035 students.
