CMSAT Student Chosen for All-Erie County Band!
Awet Aleu, seventh grader at CMSAT, is one of the best clarinet players in Erie County! She was chosen to participate in the All-Erie County Jr. High Band.
She competed against the best 7th, 8th and 9th grade clarinet players in Erie County when she performed a solo for the Erie County Music Educators Association (ECMEA) in January for placement in the band. The non-profit organization, who represents and supports music education throughout western New York, chose Alew to participate in one of twenty ensembles during the All-County Festival in March. While there, 2,100 students will be performing in front of a combined audience of close to 10,000!
This is a great honor on its own, but it's even more impressive for Awet because she is in 7th grade and beat out 8th and 9th graders! We are all so proud of this accomplishment," said band director, Adam Brignone.
Amazing work, Awet!
