    Elementary School Assistant Principal:
    The ideal candidate has a growth mindset, is student-focused, and demonstrates leadership promoting high levels of student achievement in urban youth. Proficient in data-driven decision making combined with strong leadership skills in the areas of both student-centered instruction and discipline. The candidate is a self-starter and a consensus-builder who promotes professional learning communities that are focused on student achievement in all areas of school culture. The preferred candidate has experience with a restorative approach to discipline and an overall vision for schoolwide student accountability and culture.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid NYS Certification-School Building Leader Certification (SBL or SAS)
    • No less than five (5) years’ teaching/leadership experience in the primary grades in an urban setting preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents

    Educational Leadership:

    • Considers research findings and approaches, alternatives, and consequences in the decision-making process
    • Makes decisions in a timely fashion, maximizes decisions effectiveness by follow-up actions and documents those efforts
    • Clearly communicates decisions and rationale to all effected
    • Identifies problem areas and seeks solutions before crisis situations develop

    Curriculum, Programs, and Professional Development:

    Discipline and Restorative Practices

    • Works closely with all teachers and community members, including the B.I.S. Team to support students.
    • Accurately reports behaviors, including positive communication to families and the learning community.
    • Maintains a record of student progress, including SWIS.
    • Implements the code of conduct using behavior tracking systems.  Attends Superintendents Hearings when necessary. 

    ELEMENTARY OPENINGS:

    Technology Education Long-term Substitute Teacher: 
    Full-time temporary Literacy Technology Teacher starting 8/29/2022. 
    The ideal candidate should be NYS certified in grades 1-6.  Experience teaching elementary computers/technology and teaching in an urban school is preferred.  Knowledge of Windows 10 computers, NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards, and Microsoft Office 365 helpful.  V

    Physical Education Long-term Substitute Teacher:
    K-5 long-term Substitute Physical Education Teacher starting in August 2022. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and be NYS certified. Experience in an urban school district is preferred

    Middle School Counselor:
    for the 2022-2023 school year. The ideal candidate has a growth mindset, is student focused and helps to develop student leadership in urban youth. The preferred candidate has experience with a restorative and whole-child approach to school counseling and can:

    Middle School Math Long-Term Substitute Teacher:
    Full time Middle School Math Long-term Substitute Teacher starting August 29, 2022.  The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and be certified Math 7-12 or 5-9. Experience teaching in an urban school is preferred.  Very competitive salary and member of the NYS Retirement System.

    HIGH SCHOOL OPENINGS:

    STEM Teacher:  Full-time,  STEM Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.  The ideal candidate must have experience, preferably in Science, Technology Education, Mathematics or Career and Technical Education (CTE).   Interest in teaching Project Lead the Way, engineering courses, and/or CAD (Computer Aided Design) is desirable.

     Qualifications:

    • Must have a bachelor's degree and hold or be eligible for a New York State education certification in Science, Technology Education, Mathematics, or Career and Technical Education
    • Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional and curricular methodologies
    • Understand the engineering design process, engineering concepts, and the ability to follow curriculum in technology and engineering
    • Provide supports for all students in a technology classroom consistent with the school's instructional program to ensure students meet and exceed learning targets
    • Evaluate students' progress and maintain complete and accurate records of student work
    • Effectively communicate with parents and families, students, and administrators

    Special Education Teacher:
    The successful candidate is a dynamic educator who can: 

    • Co-plan and teach instruction in the sciences per NYS Next Gen Standards 
    • Provide supports for all students in a science classroom consistent with the school's instructional program to ensure students meet and exceed learning targets 
    • Evaluate students' progress and maintain complete and accurate records of student work, accommodations, and minutes 
    • Effectively communicate with parents and families, students, and administrators 

    Computer Science
    The Charter School for Applied Technologies has an opening for the 2022-2023 school year for a high school teacher with computer science experience.  The ideal candidate has experience with computer programming and would be a member of the business department. 

    • Technology Education and Literacy in Schools (TEALS) and/or coding experience preferred but not required.  
    • Experience using or teaching Microsoft Office Suite is required. 
    • Can provide supports for computer science students consistent with the school's instructional program to ensure students meet and exceed learning targets.

    Substitute Nurse: The Charter School for Applied Technologies is looking for Per Diem substitute nurses.  Candidates must possess RN/LPN license.  Busy office for Grades K-5, and High School. $160/day

    Part Time Cleaner:
    This is an evening shift from 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.  All applicants must be dependable, have a high school diploma/GED and must be able to pass a background check including fingerprints. The candidate must have knowledge of general cleaning methods and general maintenance skills. 1-3 years’ experience preferred.
