    Move to Full Remote

ALL K-2 HYBRID FAMILIES ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13 AT 9:30 AM:

Good morning this is an important message to our K-2 Hybrid Families. As you know, the rate of COVID-19 infection is increasing rapidly throughout Erie County. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the rising community spread of the virus has impacted our newly implemented hybrid instructional model. Because of concerns over this, we have made the difficult decision to return to a fully remote instructional model for all students effective November 16. We will remain fully remote until January 4. This is not where we wanted to be. Our faculty and staff worked hard to bring students back to the building, and this setback is devastating to all. I am hopeful that the community can work together for the good of all and help reduce the spread of this virus. Please continue to be vigilant, wear a mask and maintain social distance as best you can. Thank you and be safe.

    Survey Participation Request

ALL K-2 HYBRID FAMILIES ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12  13 AT 10:30 AM:

Good Morning this is Andrew Lyle. Gov. Cuomo has designated much of Erie County as a Yellow Zone through the Cluster Action Initiative. In a Yellow Zone, schools can only operate in-person instruction if 20% of the in-person population are randomly tested on a weekly basis. Parents/guardians of our K-2 Hybrid students are asked to complete a short survey which will help us determine how many students we would have permission to test on a weekly basis. It is critically important you complete this survey, which was emailed to all parents and guardians, by tomorrow, Friday, November 13 at noon. Thank you.

K-2 Class Assignments for Hybrid Learning

ALL K-2 FAMILIES ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 AT 4:30 P.M.

Hello CSAT Families: We are eagerly planning for the hybrid return of some of our K-2 students. We promised to provide updated communication as the process unfolded. This announcement is to share with you that K-2 families will be receiving a mailing within the next few days with your child’s classroom learning information. These class assignments are the result of the survey families completed if they has a desire for their child to attend school in a hybrid fashion. If there was no response, your child will remain in a remote learning environment. Each mailing will include the option your child is assigned to, a letter from their teacher, and guidelines that will be followed should you be in the school for hybrid learning. Please note that the hybrid days your child is assigned to cannot be changed. In the event that you missed the sign up opportunity and are interested in your child returning to school in a hybrid fashion, please reach out to the Elementary office or Administration to be placed on the hybrid waiting list. The phone number to call is 876-7505. Thank you for your continued support as we venture through these challenging times.

Students will attend classes two days per week and will remain remote three days per week. All other K-2 students, including those who did not complete the survey, will remain fully remote through January 2. HS Testing Accomodations

SELECT GRADE 9-12 FAMILIES ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 AT 6 P.M.:

Hello parents! You should have received an email today from the HS Counseling Center and Mrs. Carrie Shannon regarding your child and a consent to request accommodations through the College Board. Please fill out the attached fillable form at your earliest convenience to ensure that your student is being appropriately accommodated on future exams such as the PSAT, SAT and AP exams even if he/she are not taking them this year. Without a consent, your child would take the test without things like extended time, tests read, etc. that he/she might qualify for. If you have any questions, please call 871-7400, ext. 3121. Thank you in advance for your prompt cooperation!

    i-Ready Continues

GRADE 2-5 FAMILIES ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 AT 4:30 P.M.:

Good Evening, this is Mr. Lyle. I’m calling to remind you that your Elementary School student will continue taking their iReady diagnostics this week. These assessments will provide us the information we need to see what your children know, and what they still need to learn. Therefore, we implore you to provide your child with space and time to take their assessments on their own. Our natural instinct as parents is to guide our children – however, in this case, it is imperative that they answer the questions on their own. We anticipate they will answer some questions correctly, and also that they will encounter questions they do not know the answers to. This is OK. It will help us in preparing and planning so that your child can learn and succeed. Thank you so much for your partnership.

The survey has been sent to your email address on file, and is also available on the website under the reopening section. Thank you in advance for your participation, as these results will be used to plan for a hybrid reopening while still accommodating parents who wish to have their children remain in a remote instruction setting. CSAT Reopening Plan

K-12 FAMILIES ON MONDAY, AUGUST 10 AT NOON:

Good Afternoon this is Andrew Lyle, Superintendent of the Charter School for Applied Technologies. Under the guidance of New York State, CSAT has developed three plans for the reopening of schools. While we all want nothing more than to have everyone return to CSAT and continue this path of lifelong learning, I cannot in good conscience allow any reopening model that increases the risk of infection or illness. Therefore, I want to announce that for the start of the 2020-2021 school year, CSAT will provide remote learning (at home) only for all students Grades K-12 beginning August 31st and continuing through October 30th. Please visit our website for an official announcement and more information about Question & Answer sessions slated for the next two weeks. As always, thank you for your patience and understanding.
