The Board of Trustees for the Charter School for Applied Technologies (CSAT) has announced that after a nationwide search, Andrew John Lyle has been named the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective July 1, 2019.

Lyle is currently the chief academic officer at CSAT. A 13-year veteran of the District, he served as principal of the K-8 building from 2006-2014 and the Elementary (K-5) building from 2014-2018. Lyle began his teaching career in special education for the Rochester City School District and also held the position of director of operations for Edison Schools (now Edison Learning) where he coordinated overall start-up operations for charter schools throughout the Eastern United States.

"The year-long search for a new CEO was a community-wide effort involving input from stakeholders throughout CSAT,” said Mr. David Quackenbush, president of the board of trustees.  “Mr. Lyle truly represents the qualities that were identified in the ideal candidate profile. He possesses the knowledge, passion and leadership skills we desire, in addition to a keen understanding of New York State education and charter school laws and an abundance of knowledge about the unique needs of our District and the students we serve.”

Lyle holds a bachelor’s degree in special education from SUNY Geneseo and his master’s degree in Education, School Building Administrator Certification and School District Administrator Certification from SUNY Brockport.
