First Ever Senior Signing Day a Huge Success

Local high schools have long participated in the tradition of athletic signing days to celebrate sports stars as they commit to a college. This week, other seniors will get their day of celebration and recognition, too.

On Thursday, May 23, the Charter School for Applied Technologies (CSAT) hosted our first Senior Signing Day – a chance to celebrate CSAT seniors who have chosen to pursue higher education at a professional training program, a community college, a four-year college or university, or the military. Representatives from over a dozen colleges and the military were on hand to recognize the students for their commitment to future success. Proud family members, school administration and support staff were also on hand as students had photos taken with representatives and signed a large college banner.

“Every student who makes a commitment to their future deserves to be celebrated,” said Andrew Lyle, chief academic officer of CSAT.  “Whether at a community college, a university, a certification program, the military or any other education past high school, we are proud to honor our seniors as they begin the next chapter of their lives.”

In the Fall, students from CSAT will attend:

  • Albany College of Pharmacy
  • Alfred State
  • Bryant & Stratton College
  • Buffalo State
  • Canisius College
  • Daemen College
  • Erie Community College
  • Fredonia
  • Medaille College
  • Niagara County Community College
  • Niagara Falls Culinary Institute
  • Niagara University
  • University at Albany
  • University at Buffalo
  • Villa Maria College

In addition, several students have committed to military service in the US Army, US Navy and US Marines and took their military oath at the event.

Congrats to all our seniors who have made a commitment to their future!
