Trucking Association Honors CSAT Students at Annual Golf Tournament

Longtime CSAT supporter and collaborator, the Trucking Association of New York (TANY), recently hosted a charity golf tournament in support of the CSAT Logistics Club. Members of the Logistics Club were invited to attend dinner at Chestnut Hill Country Club after the outing, where several CSAT students were recognized for their contributions to the club.

TANY is a non-profit trade group which advocates for the trucking industry at the local, state and federal levels. A longtime participant in our annual Career Convention, the group has become more active with our High School in development of a club which helps students learn more about the logistics industry including supply management, distribution and material movement, production logistics and management, and more.

An awards presentation held during the dinner recognized several students for their acheivements this past year. All of the students recognized at the event participated in an end of the year project which required the solving of a set of logistics problems and creation of a presentation with their solution utilizing skills learned in club during the year.

Congratulations to Seniors Tahlia Stafford and Theodore Sonny who were recognized with academic awards of $500 from TANY. In addition, students Yamiles Miranda, John Odell and Gabrielle Colon-Dejesus earned Certificates of Achievement for their participation and hard work in the Club.

Several students are pictured here with TANY Member Joseph Berti, vice president of Speed Global Services and member of the CSAT Board of Trustees. Our partnership with TANY will continue in the 2019-2020 school year with the development of a Logistics Class in addition to the club. Congratulations to our students and thank you to TANY and Speed for your ongoing support of CSAT!
