• WHEN TO STAY HOME

If your child is ill, the best way to ensure he/she does not infect other people is to keep him/her home. The same goes for school staff members.

If it turns out that your child is sick, please do the following:
    • Keep him/her home.
    • Go see your health care provider.
    • Consider calling 911 if he/she has difficulty breathing, appears confused, becomes very ill very quickly, or becomes unresponsive.
    • Please keep children home for 24 hours after the fever ends or they have completed 24 hours of medication if prescribed by your health care provider.

If your student is not sick, make sure they:
    • Wash their hands frequently.
    • Avoid kids/adults who are sick.

If your child is sent home by the school nurse for vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or possible contagious communicable disease, THE STUDENT CANNOT RETURN TO SCHOOL THE FOLLOWING DAY.  Recommendation is to follow up with your pediatrician for further advice and treatment.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your family health care provider.
