• WHEN TO STAY HOME

If your child is ill, the best way to ensure he/she does not infect other people is to keep him/her home. The same goes for school staff members.

But how do you know your child has the flu?  Take the quick quiz to the right and find out. If you can observe two or more of the listed symptoms, he/she may have the flu.

If it turns out that your child is sick, please do the following:
    • Keep him/her home.
    • Go see your health care provider.
    • Consider calling 911 if he/she has dificulty breathing, appears confused, becomes very ill very quickly, or becomes unresponsive.
    • Have him/her stay home until they no longer feel sick and have been fever free for 24 hours without use of a fever-reducing medication.
If your student is not sick, make sure they:
    • Wash their hands frequently.
    • Avoid kids/adults who are sick.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your family health care provider.
